Fruitful - THORNS

This week we continued our series called Fruitful based on the parable of the Sower that we read about in Matthew 13.

We looked at the seeds that fell among the thorns and we saw that this parable mentions two thorns: cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches. Both of these draw our eyes away from Jesus and His righteousness and occupy our minds and our hearts. This leaves us feeling anxious, worried and unsatisfied.

Instead we are called to uproot these thorns and we looked at three ways to do so. Guarding, Trusting and Surrendering. We need to guard our hearts and fill ourselves with truth in order to fully put our trust in Him and then let that trust be put into action by surrendering to His good and perfect will for our lives. In that way we will bear fruit in His Kingdom and lead whoever we encounter closer to Him.
