I Think I Like You - Is This The One?
In the sermon “Is This the One?”, based on The Gospel of Matthew 19:4–6, we explored what it truly means for two people to “become one.”
God is not a God of addition but of multiplication, reminding us that healthy relationships begin with two whole people growing together in Him. Being a “whole one” does not mean being perfect, but being committed to maturity—knowing you have a life, that you are loved by God, uniquely created, valuable, and free from the grip of your past.
Instead of only asking, “Is this the one?” we were challenged to first ask, “Am I becoming a whole one?” The sermon emphasized that no relationship can complete us the way God’s love can, and that true love flows from first receiving His unconditional love. We also learned the importance of being equally yoked—having the same guide, values, and direction centered on God.
Healthy relationships follow a journey of friendship, wisdom, intentional courtship, and seeking God throughout the process. Ultimately, God cares not only about who we end up with, but how we get there. When we trust Him with the process, relationships can be built on peace, clarity, wisdom, and genuine love rather than fear, pressure, or loneliness.
