Fruitful - FRUIT

Apr 26, 2026    Tabitha De Wachter

Over the past month we’ve been looking at the topic of fruitful. Most of us want to be fruitful in our lives. However as we went through the parable, we discovered that Jesus spend the three quarter of the story explaining why we don’t bear fruit. No matter how alive and active the seed is.

We looked at opportunistic birds ready to steal the seed the moment it lies unprotected on the road.

We saw how rocks - unrepentant sin, unhealed wounds and unoffered praise- cause our hearts to become hard, preventing the seed to grow deep roots necessary to bear fruit.

We looked at thorns, the worries and the deceitfulness of riches, and how they have the capacity to strangle and suffocate the upcoming seed, even if it is sown in good fertile ground.

And then finally, this past Sunday we looked at how to bear fruit. Thirty, sixty and hundredfold.

Looking at John 15 we discovered that

1. Fruit is his plan, and brings glory to the great I am

2. When we remain in the vine, fruit comes in time

3. Joy, friendship with God and answered prayer are the evidence of residence
