Restored to Wholeness - The God Who Redeems

Jun 21, 2026    Tabitha De Wachter

In Psalm 103:1-6 David charges us to not forget one of Gods benefits. Then he continues with explaining what those benefits are:

who forgives all your iniquity,

  who heals all your diseases,

who redeems your life from the pit,

who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,

who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Could it be that this is not a random list of Gods benefits, but that thing one actually builds on the other?

This raises the question why does David starts with iniquity? and what has it to do with healing and redemption? As we looked at those questions we also looked at how Gods desire for us is not just getting us to zero, but rather to renew us completely by crowning us and satisfying us with His goodness, love and mercy.
