Fear Not! - The Fear of God

As we finished our series 'Fear not!' last Sunday we looked at the Fear of The Lord. Although we have been repeating fear not to you, Simon reminded us of a righteous fear we should have.

In Psalm 110:10 we read,

“The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, all who follow His precepts (general rule intended to regulate behaviour) have good understanding. To Him belongs eternal Praise.”

This is not a fear to bring us down, but to build our character. During his sermon Simon highlighted 3 ways in which we can grow in the fear of the Lord:

1. Speak Life. Proverbs 15 vs 4.

2. ⁠Do not forget we are no longer the same. Romans 12 vs 2.

3. ⁠We need to make changes so that we can find Him. Matthew 6 vs 33.

To Fear God it will require us to hear Him speak and to respond to that.
