Pentecost Sunday

Last Sunday we celebrated Pentecost Sunday. 

Pentecost was one of three major Jewish pilgrimage festivals in the Old Testament. It was the feast of the harvest, the giving of the law and redemption for the nations. It was this very festival that God choose to pour out His spirit. It is Pentecost that marks the start of the church.

As we examined Acts 2:1-15;37 we looked at 5 characteristics of Gods mission:

- it always starts with God

- it is to all nations

- it draws both the perplexed and scornful

- it requires a human voice

- it brings people to salvation

As long as there are people and nations that need salvation, we need the holy spirit just as much as the disciples needed the holy spirit on the day of Pentecost.
