Restored to Wholeness - The God Who Sets Free

This week we ended off our series called Restored to wholeness by looking at the topic "The God who sets free". We saw how in Luke 4 Jesus starts His ministry by giving a mission statement of what He has come to do. In this mission statement He quotes Isaiah 61 where He says that He came to bring Good News to the poor, bind up the broken hearted, proclaim liberty to the captives and proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.

Each one of these things promises us that through the redemptive work that Jesus has done in His life, death and resurrection we can now live a life of freedom from poverty, captivity and broken heartedness. We saw that He desires to pour out His favor on us and restore us back to wholeness.

Lastly we saw how, because we live in a broken world there are certain things that keep us from living in this blessing of freedom. But God... He already paid the price in full so we don't have to remain in those things and we can be set free and fully restored back to wholeness.
