Chosen Generation - 1 Peter 4:12-19

Last week, Laura spoke on the topic of hope in the midst of suffering. We read in 1 Peter 4:12-19, where Peter writes we shouldn’t be surprised or ashamed when suffering comes.

After all, if Jesus - who was free of sin - would suffer, what makes us think we wouldn’t?

Instead, we should rejoice.

We find hope in knowing that our suffering can be used by God to shape us, so that we become more like Jesus.

We have hope because our suffering reminds us of what lies ahead, the day we will join in Gods presence. Finally, Peter’s words encourage us: when suffering comes, continue to draw closer to Jesus, continue to do good, and trust your faithful Creator.

Suffering is particularly hard when we face it alone. God designed us for community. If you’d like to join a connect group, talk to Laura.
