Follow - The Cost of Following

May 25, 2025    Tabitha De Wachter

As we continued with our series ‘FOLLOW’ we looked at the cost of following Jesus.

In Mark 8:31-35 we see Jesus predicting his death, but also sharing that whoever wants to be his disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross.

As we looked deeper into this, we discovered that Jesus death and resurrection is costly grace. It is costly because it has cost Jesus everything. He suffered, was rejected, and was killed. But He was also raised from the death, so we can have forgiveness of sins. This is grace. Grace we don’t deserve. Grace that empowers us to walk with Jesus, to pick up our own cross, denying ourselves, and losing our lives for His sake, grace that redeems us time and time again.
