Marriage - The Plan for Marriage - Part I

In part one of the plan for marriage, we remembered that God created marriage as an answer to Adam’s loneliness in the garden of Eden, and therefore the importance of companionship/friendship in marriage, which involves enjoyment of one another, and sharing a common vision. 

We also looked at the special roles spouses can play in terms of discipling each other, through speaking truth, encouragement, and by the example of sacrificially loving their spouse. Finally we saw how God sees marriage reordering the hierarchy of relationships through marriage “the man shall leave his father and mother and be joined with his wife”, and the importance of prioritising marriage.
