The Pattern - The pattern Broken

The Last two Sundays we looked at how we all intuitively understand that there is beauty and perfection, because we are made in the image of a God who is holy and perfect. However as we look around, we see how much brokenness the world knows.

How did the perfect pattern that God created get broken? In Rom 5:17 Paul says that because of one man's sin, death entered the world and that we have all participated in sin since then. In other words: just as genetic corruption can lead to DNA (a beautiful, well-ordered pattern for life) being distorted and causing distortion and brokenness for the next generations, our spiritual DNA has been corrupted and distorted by sin, leading to ripple effects of brokenness in our world and in subsequent generations.

Last Sunday we looked at the moment this perfect pattern got broken and how God himself sent Jesus to give us new spiritual DNA and the opportunity for the pattern to be restored whenever we acknowledge our own sin and come to Jesus for restoration.
